That sums up the weather lately. It is kinda sorta maybe Spring. After months of being held captive in the house, we finally got to go somewhere! Yay! We went to the Sakura Festival in Philly. Rain clouds threatened the day, which is why in the pictures there is no natural warmth. I say natural because looking at the performers will brighten any gloomy day. We were very privileged to see the Tamagawa Takio Drummers again. We saw them for the first time the weekned before at Swarthmore College in Philly. They were giving a free concert. When we left, we felt like we just got the best deal of the century! These people are upbeat and smiled throughout the entire 2 hour performance. My face hurt so much from smiling, lol. Anyway, if they are ever in your area I urge you to see them...trust me no matter what the ticket price, they are well worth every penny. They are straight from Japan and speak no English except "thank you". I got to use my very limited Japanese. They were surprised and delighted. I am sure by now they are homesick and I thought it was the very least I could do to repay them for the wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.

That's right! I am officially DONE with school!!! Yippeeeee! I have a bachelors in Culinary Arts and a diploma in Pastry Arts. The last event for our pastry program is to come up with an original wedding cake - following a whole page worth of criteria!

I have this feeling of emptyness...all these years I have been studying, researching, putting together projects, and now nothing. This is my first weekend where I don't have anything school related to do and it feels WEIRD, lol. I have no idea what to do now, lol.

Well, I hope you like the cake - oh yeah the bottom two layers are classic white cake flavored with orange blossom water with an orange curd (custard for all you non-culinary peeps) and the ann. layer is an old fashioned Devils Food cake with a chocolate-cherry ganache (chocolate) filling.

Just wanted to take this time to thank everyone who added my pictures to their favs - sometimes thats all the inspiration that you need to keep doing what you do, knowing that someone somewhere likes/appreicates what you do. So, while cleaning out the closet (which now is no longer bottomless) I came across some drawings I did around the 5th-8th grade range. My boyfriend thought that I should post them on here. I laughed and proceded to throw them in the trash whence he snatched them outta my hand and scanned them. So, just for hahas, here they are......but remember, you've been warned! :-P
